NBSRT President Bob Fitzpatrick and 1st Vice President Noreen Bonnell met recently with their retired teacher counterparts from SERFNB, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, and anglophone Quebec as part of scheduled meetings of the Eastern Canadian Retired Teacher Organizations (ECRTO).  Representatives from each of the provincial retired teacher organizations meet once every two years to discuss items of mutual concern.  The President, Executive Director and Regional Representative (Margaret Urquhart) from the Canadian Association of Retired Teachers (ACER-CART) also participated.

They met for about two hours and discussed many items of mutual interest including things like: keeping members engaged, substitute teaching for retirees, recruitment of members, ACER/CART’s new website, NBSRT’s strategic plan and national priorities related to senior heath.
